Finding the workshop

Hitchin is around 35 miles north of London, and is easily accessible by road, via the A1(M) and M1 motorways, and by frequent rail services from London Kings Cross, Peterborough and Cambridge.

From the A1 (M) south

If you are approaching from the south exit at junction 8 and follow the signs for Hitchin along the A602.
Follow the A602 for around three miles until you reach a large roundabout. Take the third exit (B656). Follow the road past the market place and car parks.
Go straight on at the traffic lights (the right hand lane) and continue until the next roundabout. Turn left (in to Verulam Road) and follow the road to the end. Turn right at the next roundabout into Nightingale Road. The shop is 400 yards on the corner of Kings Road.

From the A1 (M) north

If you are approaching from the north, exit the A1 at junction 9 (Letchworth Garden City). Take the last exit on the roundabout at the top of the exit ramp. At the long about go straight on, and at the next roundabout turn left following the signs for Hitchin (A505). Continue along this road over the traffic lights and roundabouts for around three miles. Shortly after you enter Hitchin, you pass under a railway bridge. At this junction follow the road round to the right. B&Q is on the left and McDonalds is on the right. The Workshop is a further 400 yards on the right located on the corner of Kings Road.

From the M1

Exit at junction 10 follow the A505 sign posted Hitchin.
As you come into Hitchin, go straight on at the double mini-roundabouts. Turn left at the first major roundabout. You will be in a one way system. Continue straight on and through the traffic lights. (The traffic is two way again) At the mini roundabout in front of the football club, turn right. Follow this road over three roundabouts and the shop is around 400 yards on the left.

By Train

Services are available from Kings Cross, Cambridge and Peterborough. The workshop is less than five minutes walk from the station. Turn right as you exit the station building. At the end of Station Approach there is a pedestrian crossing directly in front of you. Cross here and follow the road round to the right and back on yourself into Nightingale Road. McDonalds should be on your right. The workshop is approximately 400 yards on the other side of the road, above John Myatt's Shop.
